6.5 Colombia earthquake on August 13, 2013


6.5 Colombia earthquake struck at 10:43 a.m. local time (11:43 a.m. EDT/1543 GMT) at a depth of 21 km (13 miles) and nearly 100 km west of Colombia's Pacific coast.

The strong offshore earthquake of magnitude 6.5 shook several towns in western Colombia on Tuesday, but no damage or injuries were reported, the country's Geological Service said. No tsunami warning was issued.

Real World star dies at 44

Real World star dies at 44

Sean Sasser, whose commitment ceremony to Real World star Pedro Zamora was a TV first, has died. He was 44.

Sasser and Zamora's commitment ceremony was televised on MTV in 1994. Zamora died later that year due to complications from AIDS.

According to US Weekly, Sasser, who appeared on the MTV show in 1994, died of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a form of lung cancer that effects people with weakened immune systems. Details about Sasser’s medical condition aren’t known at this time but Queerty reports that the disease is often linked to people who are HIV positive.

Calhoun County Sheriff Department deputies identified the woman as Caril Ann Fugate Clair, 70, of Stryker, Ohio. She is a patient at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo and deputies said Tuesday afternoon she is expected to recover.

Fugate Clair was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:53 p.m. on northbound I-69 near Old 27 in Tekonsha Township. Her husband and the driver of the SUV, Frederick A. Clair, 81, was killed in the accident.

Deputies said the 1997 Ford Explorer went off the right side of the road and then Clair may have lost control and went back across the two lanes of traffic and rolled over several times in the median.

Fugate Clair was just 14 when she was arrested in connection with 10 murders, with her boyfriend, Charles Starkweather, in 1958 in Nebraska and Wyoming. The victims included her mother, stepfather and her 2-year-old sister. The spree is considered the deadliest in Nebraska history.

Tropical Storm Henriette 2013

Tropical Storm Henriette was moving slowly west of Baja California, Mexico, Monday and should become a hurricane Tuesday, forecasters said.

No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.

Henriette is expected to strength and should become a hurricane by Tuesday, the center said.

Tropical storm-force winds extended as far as 80 miles out from Henriette's center.

FBI arrests mayors:Michael Pizzi and Manuel "Manny" Marono charged

The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested the mayors of Miami Lakes and Sweetwater Tuesday on bribery charges.

The FBI says in a press release agents arrested Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi and Sweetwater Mayor Manuel "Manny" Marono at their offices and charged them in two separate complaints involving public corruption allegations. 

Usher's Son Hospitalized

Usher's Son Hospitalized
According to TMZ, Usher's son attempted to retrieve a toy in a pool drain when his arm got stuck. A supervising ad-ult as well as a maid tried unsuccessfully to rescue him.

Thankfully, according to the report, two male employees working inside the home eventually freed the child, who was given CPR and then rushed to an Atlanta-area hospital, where both Tameka and Usher are said to be keeping vigil at his side.
